Dude same. I can't help but analyze memes of animals now when I see them - I've gotten into the habit of trying to find the origins of most pics now so I know what I'm enjoying is not abuse.

Ditto to the above. I ended up jumping in to help so CRAZY horrible looking string foot cases when i just couldnt walk past them in a park near my new apartment. A spray bottle of iodine water, nail scissors, two hand towels, tweezers, a magnifying glass and a bag of seed+a pet carrier for really bad cases. If you have a steady hand and are extremely careful you can get the gunk off them but for anything that caused skin wounds i kept them in my bathroom for a couple days in “shoes” made of cotton makeup pads and medical tape to be sure it healed. I got generic id rings for them so i could keep an eye on them and taught them where i lived so they could find me if they got hurt again.

now thats real dedication, i admire this, thank you for the tips! I have never grabbed a pigeon before but i will try if i see the little guy or any other pigeon for that matter. I dont always notice their feet, but this ones was quite inverted.

I met one in the 14th district last winter on my way home. We walked by each other on the pavement with only half a meter distance between us. It was quite an animal. It wasn't afraid, though, just cautious. They're clearly used to people.
