I use both because I'm used to both. I don't have any problem saying Кыргызстан, because I'm Tatar. But Tatar (and I assume other Turkic) ы

Both names apply. Officially it is usually called Kyrgyzstan. Colloquially, older people say Kirgiziya. For us, two ы's in one word is quite difficult to pronounce, the word is difficult in terms of the Russian language.

I know that people from Kyrgyzstan get easily triggered if you say Kirgizia, but Kyrgyzstan is kind of much harder to pronounce to me, so I use Kirgizia with my close friends and family and Kyrgyzstan with others to avoid offending people

По-разному. Чаще всего Киргизия. Родился там в 1991 году, но потом переехал. Знакомые киргизы тоже по-разному называют, но у них наоборот, чаще используется именно Кыргызстан.

I use Киргизия. Because it sounds more familiar, and in Russian it has always been pronounced that way. I believe that people should not be forced to pronounce the names of countries strictly in a certain pronunciation. "Y" is "Ы", e.g. "Naberezhnye Chelny" is spelled with "Y", while "И" is "i", e.g. "Novosibirsk"

I say Kirgizia, Bashkiria (уҡытып мине ҡарағыҙ, ага), Tataria if it's not official documents, but Kazakhstan because Kazakhia is not common in Russian.

Kirghizia is a correct name in the Russian language. The insecurity of some nationalists from other countries shouldn’t affect our language or the way we use it.

I use Киргизия, cinema in Novogireevo also kept the old name. So it is a matter of a habit to me.

I say Kirgiziya. That's what everyone around me says. I have relatives from Kirgiziya , they also talk about their country as Kirgiziya.

I keep saying Киргизстан. As for the next inevitable question, I also say Беларусьсия and Вна Украине

As with other controversial names (Belarus, Moldova, в Украине, etc.), I am trying to use the preferred variant. But I don't really actively push myself to use it, so I might use the old variant here and there out of habit, when I speak or text fast. When I have more time, like writing a post or comment, I correct myself if the old name slips.

I have Kyrgyz roots tho, so I say Кыргызстан. I don't mind if someone say Киргизия, but lots of Kyrgyz people can be offended by Киргизия :)

Maybe they should visit a psychologist? Somehow I don't care what languages they call Russia in. Do the Kyrgyz have any more problems?

Why not both? The same way we have "Russian Federation" and "Russia". Of course, in our case, the terms are legally equivalent, according to the Constitution. I think it'd be nice to have both Кыргызстан and Киргизия.

None of those actually. I honestly never heard anyone say neither Кыргызстан nor Киргизия. I guess both are okay to say, but whenever someone talks about the country I hear "у киргизов"

Kyrgyzstan but not Kirgizia, Belarus but not Belorussia Moldova but not Moldavia and so on. Call the countries how they call themselves officially, but not how Russia used to call them.

Depends on if you are talking about the modern day country, or the Soviet Socialist Republic.

Кыргызстан. Once I had a work and I needed to read about the country to make it done. All my sources was from there so they all called it "Кыргызстан" and I just followed them. Few years later I realized that this one is political question as well. But I am not like "russian-russian" if it is important.
