Corruption is massive issue regular people bribe others to do anything such as avoiding military service, to put their in good school, even just do get their food in a cafeteria first. The song really hits close to home. If I replace everytime till and the girl says moscow with a city I live in it defines my country. People from bottom to top all willing to sell their heart, body, mind even their soul.
They grew up in communist Germany and some visited and even lived in Moscow during the USSR, so their views are definitely influenced by that. And what’s more, foreigners often think Russians are quite communist-minded and are surprised to learn that we are not, far from it.
There are a ton of people who read and write smut in their own language because they simply don’t know English on a decent enough level, so they don’t even have notion that smut in their language is considered cringe by some.
Idk man ,I live in a small Russian town. There are plenty of girls in hijabs walking the streets, Muslim people aren't hated. We don't really care about religion.
Honestly, I hate the Soviet period of our history but even I think this is not an issue. It’s just some aesthetics and nostalgia, no need to completely erase everything, and there were good things there too, after all.
