Antinatalists/pessimists or simply anyone who likes deeper thought-provoking art would be the most appreciative of it I guess. Suffering is and will be the core theme. The one and only signed canvas print will be available for sale in the near future, for each piece, collectors looking for unique or rare art might be interested in. So, them too.
That's an interesting turn of events, another credit to you for allowing the change of mind in the face of new/more information. It's cool if I managed to clarify things to a degree, which may result in a changed perspective on the art piece in some people.
I think AI is a great tool but I wish it was part of the rules that it had to be tagged or included in the title. I kinda wanna avoid AI works as someone who wants to learn from others.
I wouldn't mind it but if I read the rules correctly, AI art is forbidden here, understandably. So such tag is perhaps unnecessary. The reason this is allowed here (I contacted admins regarding permission) is because it's not art done entirely by the AI, in fact far from it, as the process video shows. It has an educational value, the exact process is novel and shows to others how AI can be used indeed as a tool, where you are entirely in control of where the image goes.
It's Inmendham, or as close to him as I was able to get to, both with the AI and freehand on top of it. Doesn't need to look the same anyway, just similar.
Yeah, few symbolisms there, "NO" in the shade = baby's choice to remain in darkness/nonexistence, pen pointing from the word "GOOD" to "NO" /not to exist.
David Benatar is a South African antinatalist philosopher. The painting is original and is a metaphor for the asymmetry between the pain and pleasure. Sensationally pain is far stronger or heavier than pleasure so the injured pigeon, though standing on the empty pan and even bleeding, is heavier than the other pigeon standing on the pan full of seeds, enjoying them (seeds are intentionally of the color they are to be associated with golden coins/wealth).
I kind of got that from your summary and illustration. I've spayed my cats, but I haven't euthanized them proactively. Don't want to say something that will get me banned, but it would seem there should be a dearth of advocates for the philosophy, because a true believer, well....
There is a branch of antinatalism, or extension some call it, even uttermost logical conclusion of it, called efilism. If you think antinatalism is extreme and controversial, well, meet efilism. Efilists are sentiocentric antinatalists who argue for total extinction of life (doesn't appear to matter how it happens or how fast), and a thing like proactive euthanasia wouldn't bother an efilist. By proactively euthanizing your cats, you would possibly be sparing them of a severe suffering later in life. If we think about stray cats, severe suffering is highly possible not to say guaranteed.
Thanks so much. And I'll have to check out True Detective again. I watched it not long after it came out. This adds another layer of interest. THANKS AGAIN!
The painting is called "Benatar's asymmetry". David Benatar is a South African antinatalist philosopher and his Asymmetry Argument says that it is wrong to procreate because of an asymmetry between pleasure and pain. The painting is a metaphor for it or specifically the asymmetry between the pain and pleasure.

Hey, I now like this art.

I looked up "Inmendham" and it looks like some kind of antinatalism thing?
He is a known antinatalist philosopher, like David Benatar.
Whats up with that bloke smiling at the middle right?
It's Inmendham, or as close to him as I was able to get to, both with the AI and freehand on top of it. Doesn't need to look the same anyway, just similar.
This is great. So good.
Thanks. Going bigger and richer with these composites. Hope to do more.
Seems like loaded with cryptic messages and weird symbolism. I like it!
Glad you do. Yeah, lots of symbolism on it.
I like the 'consent to be' contract a lot. There's so much great imagery here!
Yeah, few symbolisms there, "NO" in the shade = baby's choice to remain in darkness/nonexistence, pen pointing from the word "GOOD" to "NO" /not to exist.
How did you get the clear, English text in? Is that manual insertion or something? I thought that wasn't possible.
It isn't possible, as far as I know. It's manual. Would be nice if that changes in the future.

Here's the process video (discrete steps):

There is a process video but I can't share links here so if you want to see it search "Antinatalism Themed Art" channel on YT.

the link you shared is down, anywhere else I can look at the gif? Really fascinating process
Edited the comment above, indeed, the link doesn't work, process GIF just posted on Twitter. Or visit
I wouldn´t exactly say that a situation where the have-plenties telling the bleeding have-nots to not complain is self-pitty but hey, modern times.
Agree.
"victimizing yourself only weights you down, frank!"
Could be one of the misinterpretations I guess. Of course, it has nothing at all to do with self-pity.
This is brilliant
Thanks.

If you have an suggestions for reading, I'd appreciate it.
